"You can drag and drop everything from /usr/share/applications
or also /usr/share/applications/antix

to the desktop

Use rox-filer or spacefm.
Afterwards you can rename the icon by right-click > change entry"

You can copy some shortcuts from  /usr/share/applications to ~/desktop folder using rox-filer.
